“You Can’t Vote-In Change”

Popular political discussion suggests that change can be voted into the American political system. Amused by our collective cultural amnesia of past promises, I remix 50 years of archival footage from presidential campaign ads that pledged political and social change. The remix opens the discussion for questioning the legitimacy of the electoral process and creates a dialogue for moving beyond the fabricated celebrity of leadership, bringing the focus back to grass-roots organizing and the people’s movements that historically brought forth change.

This remix is classified as fair use in accordance with Title 17 U.S.C. Section 107.

For more on the concept of remix, see the political remix video site.
